Combi Single Stroller Review
With a traditional umbrella fold and sleek aluminum frame, this stroller comes with a very affordable price. It has a cupholder for parents, large basket, and canopy pocket to store all your essentials.
The stroller flexes a lot when it is pushed, particularly over rough surfaces. This can pose a challenge for parents on the go who wish to use their stroller frequently.
Here are a few examples of
Combi strollers make it simpler and more enjoyable to care for your children. They are light, easy to use, and attractive. These strollers come with various safety features like 3-point and 5 point harnesses, reversible handles large canopy and adjustable suspension. Some have a parent cup holder and an enormous basket.
The Cosmo is the Combi’s flagship stroller, and it can also accommodate car seats. It did not do well in the stroller and car seat compatibility tests, however. The other models from CR including the Flare, and the Shuttle have received higher ratings online.
This stroller’s easy-to-fold feature is one of its most impressive features. It can be folded in just three steps and it doesn’t require you to bend over. It is also easy to maneuver and can be used on various terrains. It also comes with a large canopy that protects your child from harsh weather and sun.
The frame is made of steel which makes it durable. The wheels are made of a special material which absorbs road bumps and shocks. It also comes with an elevated seat that is 53cm tall, which helps keep your baby off the ground and avoid contact with allergens, dirt and other substances. Additionally the Combi Stroller comes with a parent cup holder and an ample storage basket.
The Cosmo scored well in the manoeuvrability and stability tests however, it was not able to compete in head-tohead competitions with top performers such as the Cougar 2. In the test for sideways tipping it performed well with scores of 33 degrees, but was not as close as the best single buggy scores in this metric. This metric is aided by the front-lock swivel wheel and suspension. A single step brake pedal locks both rear wheels, which is useful for tight spaces and improving maneuverability. It’s available in a variety of colors and can be purchased from many department stores, chain stores, and even independent baby shops.
Design
The stroller’s first appearance is fine and its unique folding mechanism is fascinating however, that’s all it is. In tests it did not perform as well as its competitors and did not offer anything extraordinary in the way of return. It only holds one car seat, so it’s not the best choice for twins, and its padding leaves much to be desired for a comfortable ride over the course of. It’s heavy and difficult to maneuver, and even though it does have storage, it’s not very large and difficult to access.
The frame of the Combi Twin Cosmo has many parts and connection points which makes it appear less expensive than its competitors who have frames with less pieces that are welded instead of riveted. The backs of the seats aren’t flat against the frame when it’s collapsed. It has a decent weight capacity and is more easy to load into a trunk than some of its competitors but the bulk could pose a problem for public transportation as it’s likely not to be able to conform to any 2’X4′ rules that apply there.
The Combi Twin Cosmo scored well in our maneuverability tests despite its size and weight. It took just 25 pounds to tip the Combi Twin Cosmo in the opposite direction, which is better than the majority of competition. However, it still isn’t the best performer on this metric: the Chariot Cougar 2
The rear wheels with wide tires can be locked to increase maneuverability. The single step brake pedal locks and unlocks both rear wheels simultaneously which is ideal for parking and tight spaces. A cup holder for the parent, large basket, and canopy pocket are all storage options but this is minimal in comparison to other items.
The canopy has a small storage compartment on the back, however it’s too low to hold larger items like diaper bags or groceries. There are two cup holders but they are too close together to be useful to share drinks. The canopy offers adequate sun protection with a three-panel sunshade that blocks over 99 percent of UV Rays.
Comfort
One of the most important features of strollers is the capacity to allow children to sit in a comfortable place. The stroller features an adjustable seat that reclines and a canopy that extends to the back. There is also a cup-holder for parents, a tray and storage space inside the canopy. The stroller also comes with an adjustable handlebar that can be telescopically adjusted for effortless maneuvering and can be parked easily in narrow spaces.
The stroller scored well in our quality metric but it did not impress in any other categories. It had the most flexible frame when pushed and its connections are constructed of plastic, not a softer product like other strollers. The wheels were very flexible and might be difficult to use on uneven surfaces.
It is a good vehicle for maneuvering, however this is offset by its weight and size. It took more effort to push, and this might be difficult for parents of smaller children to manage on a daily basis. It can maneuver through narrow aisles and doors easily, but it could be hard to fit it into a crowded elevator.
The storage area under the seat was not ideal for the test participants. It was hard to access, and there’s a bar in the middle of this space that prevents larger items from fitting. Even a purse of standard size could not fit into this space. A diaper bag with two items for children did not fit. The additional pockets on the canopy are a nice touch but they do not fill the gap left by this inadequate storage space under the seat.
The unique carry strap and fold make it a great option for transporting passengers to and from public transportation, however the bulk of the stroller can make it difficult to fit on trains and buses that are crowded without causing injury to innocent pedestrians. This stroller is best suited for commuters, who can easily carry it inside their car. It is lightweight enough to be carried and down escalators, however it would need to be collapsed should you want to transport it on a train or bus.
Safety
The Combi Fold N Go stroller has a variety of features that are convenient and a light, compact design. It has a reclining chair with plush harness pads to ensure your baby’s safety and comfort, a large canopy to block out the sun and extra storage space. The dual front wheel suspension, lockable front wheels and large canopy ensure smooth riding and allow airflow into and out of the seat. A parent cup holder and large basket provide additional storage space for your essentials and the stroller’s handlebar is height-adjustable to suit your preferences.
This stroller received a high score in our ease of use tests. The CR testers were impressed by the feature that it folds down in just three steps. It is light and narrow enough to fit into doorways, and has an electronic locking brake system that is simple to use. The stroller has small leg openings that prevent infants from falling through. It is also easy to steer. These are all essential elements when it comes to a stroller, but it is equally important that the child be safely secured in the car seat. That’s why it is important to choose the stroller that can be folded, unfolded, parked and secured with the car seat attached without requiring any complicated steps or tools.
Always remember to fasten the child’s safety harness and close the gap between the seat back and the grab bar when the stroller is in the reclining position. This will prevent your toddler from climbing out of the seat and becoming a strangulation or fall risk. Keep bags for diapers and purses away the stroller handles to prevent the possibility of entanglement. This will also reduce the risk that the bag could tip over. Registering your stroller with the manufacturer will permit you to be informed if there are any recalls.
A combi single stroller is a great option for parents who plan to travel or do routine errands with their toddler and newborn. It’s lightweight and compact when folded, and can be easily stored in your trunk or closet until you are ready to take it out again. It can be carried by hand for easier transport if you have to travel from point A to B in a hurry.
