Registering a Pushchair Sale
Safety
Even if the baby equipment was used for only some months, it could still be risky. Secondhand products aren’t required to be registered with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, unlike new born push chair items. This means that there’s no way to determine whether a product is affected by recalls, which can occur for any reason, from design flaws to a manufacturer’s failure to comply with federal standards. You can register a stroller and receive notifications of recalls.
This rule establishes a standard that is required for strollers and carriages, pursuant to Section 104 of the Danny Keysar Act on Child Product Safety Notifications, as amended by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008(CPSIA). The rule incorporates the most recent voluntary standard, ASTM F833-13b developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials. It also establishes requirements and testing methods to reduce the risks that these products pose. CPSC staff worked closely with ASTM stakeholders to create this rule.
