The curved fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 and the 6months of colour pack come together to create a sleek pushchair that has a soft elegant look. The base frame alone weighs less than a kilo and is so light that you can easily lift it from the box (and do it with one hand).

It’s also easy to attach or remove attachments, adaptors, or adaptors – the hood, for example, snaps onto the YOYO2 with reassuring clicks – as well as being machine washable to help deter staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy, but it doesn’t bend as much as some other wagons that we tested. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold and does not lock tightly once folded. It is easy to move however, and can fit through doors with a width of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents who are looking for a secondary stroller that’s affordable. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and folded size which means it’s lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to put into a trunk of a car or closet. It also offers an adjustable reclining seat that can be positioned in several positions as well as a parent cup holder. Other key features include two large hanging storage bags as well as 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels.

In our test of the push and turn it performed better than most of the other strollers of a similar price we test, but it’s not the most maneuverable on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. Its sunshades are among the most compact we tested, with only direct overhead coverage and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a more extensive canopy.

The front wheels can to be locked in a forward position, or they can pivot. This is helpful in rough terrain. We let the front wheels to rotate on our walk along a stony path. It was able to handle this well, though it did seem to be a bit bumpier.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

It is a bit heavier than other strollers we tested but the wheels are rubber composite so it feels well-made and durable. It is able to maneuver effortlessly across all types of terrain and it’s also a breeze to lift even with two children and a shopping bag.

Both the seat and carrycot have hoods that can be lowered to reveal a UV50and sun canopy extensions. They are sturdy and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams that can be blown back into toddlers faces.

The canopy/seat comes with two big sun visors that can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. However the toggle closure isn’t great – it’s not as silent as Velcro and can wake sleepy babies.

The Duet is a stroller that can be used side-by-side and can be configured to take twins or siblings (up to 22kg max per seat). It’s compatible with two infant car seats and can be used with carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can be facing one another or turn around and face the parents, theoretically cutting down on sibling rivalries over who sits with dad and mom. It comes with a big gear tray as well as a bottle holder and snack tray. It also has a superior compact stand fold, and an automatic frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Urban Glide 2 isn’t compatible with bassinets for infants or car seats as of yet, but you can use it from day one by purchasing adapters for the majority of seats made by brands such as BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It folds down compactly and takes between 5 and 10 minutes to assemble with no tools. The manual is easy to read and contains a variety of languages.
