The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a great option if you’re on a budget and do not need a stroller that can be used as car seat carrier. It has a simple, one-step foot brake that’s flip flop user-friendly.

It’s also easy to push and feels sturdy when navigating kerbs or woodland pathways. Additionally, it’s easy to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a name as the ultimate light-weight buggy for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, due to its nimble maneuverability and foldable design that can be tucked away in the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. The most recent version comes with independent suspension on all 4 wheels constructed of Hytrel elastomer, which allows it to ‘perfectly traverse all types and terrains’.

The YOYO2 frame base, curved fabric bassinet and six-month color pack form a stylish pushchair that is easy on the eyes, with a subtle but elegant design and stylish branding. The frame itself weighs just over a kilogram and is so light you can easily lift it out of the box (and do it with one hand).

It’s also easy to attach or remove adaptors or attachments like the hood for instance, snaps on to the YOYO2 using reassuring clicks and is machine washable at 30deg to help deter staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram from birth using the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted into a stroller after 6 months using the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great option for parents who are looking for a stroller that is versatile. It can be converted from a stroller to wagon by simply flipping the handle, so parents can select which mode they prefer on their journey. The wagon can fit two or more children between 6 months to five years old. It has a large storage basket that can accommodate all your necessities on the go.

The Xplore comes with two canopy options that can rotate from front to back, offering adequate sun protection for all family members. It also has a footwell that’s not as large or deep as other wagons, which means it may not be ideal for longer trips or napping.

The frame of the Xplore feels solid and sturdy however it doesn’t have the same flexibility as other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the other models, and it does not close tightly when folded. It is easy to move however, and is able to fit through narrow 28 inches doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents who are looking for a second stroller that is affordable. It scored highly in our Strollers and Multiples Test for weight and fold dimensions, which means it’s lightweight, compact when folded, and easy to carry and put in a trunk for your car. It also offers the option of reclining in multiple positions and an adult cup holder. Other features worth mentioning include two large hanging storage bags and 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.

It did better in our push and turn test than many of the other strollers we tested but is nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades it has were among the smallest strollers we test. They only cover the top, and don’t have windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a significantly larger canopy.

The Delta took us just under 3 minutes to put together with an average manual, and none of the components required tools. It’s lacking certain features we believe are essential for a double stroller. They include a large basket, reclining seats and adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi’s latest pushchair and is marketed as a travel system for urban use. It can be used from birth to around 3.5-years-old. The seat and carrycot can be easily converted with just a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats and comes complete with the lightweight Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-incar base, and a reversible car.

It’s really easy to manoeuvre and the one-hand recline of the seat and the super large shopping basket make it simple for parent-tots to get the child out and in quickly. Despite this being quite narrow, the pushchair handled the bumps of everyday life well and was able to pass through doorways without a hitch.

The front wheels can be locked in an forward position or allow them to swivel which can be helpful when crossing rough terrain. We let the front wheels to rotate on our walk along the stony path. It handled this reasonably well, although it seemed slightly rougher.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is best known for its three-wheeled, all-terrain strollers for jogging. But they also produce a wide selection of pushchairs with four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most sought-after models. It folds easily and can fit into the car’s boot even with the carrycot attached.

It is heavier than the other strollers that we tested, but because it comes with rubber composite wheels it feels solid and well-constructed. It is easy to maneuver on different terrains, and even with two children as well as a shopping bag and other items.

The carrycot and seat both have hoods that can be pulled down to reveal UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are sturdy and waterproof, unlike other hoods for prams that can be blown back into toddlers faces.

It’s not a lot of storage space, but it does have a large basket deep enough to hold a changing bag or plenty of groceries. It can also be linked with the Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for babies as big as 20 lb (car seat and adapters sold separately). If you need a stroller that can be taken on the road, the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was a stroller that captured the hearts of a large number of parents when it first came out. It’s a frame made of aluminum that will be with you throughout your baby’s initial days and beyond. It is a standout model with many unique features, such as the ability of the seat to flip between the parent and the world as well as a large UPF50+ canopy, an eye shade that flips out, and an adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are durable and foam-filled which minimises punctures. The chassis is equipped with built-in suspension that eases the pain of bumpy terrain. Our test driver found it easy to push and was able to maneuver it through narrow streets without difficulty.

It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It is also able to stand and be trolleyed for easier transport in the trunk of your car or down the stairs at home. It also comes ready with the option to add a car seat or carrycot with the adaptors included. The brakes come with only one action and are colour coded. They also can be used with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This single pushchair that is budget-friendly is surprisingly easy to maneuver and comes with an excellent dual suspension system, one-hand fold and a practical carry strap. It’s also very light and durable. The seat can be reclined into many positions and comes with a built-in double breathable mattress that’s suitable for babies from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two large sun visors, which can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. However, the toggle closure isn’t perfect because it’s not as quiet as Velcro and can wake sleepy babies.

The Duet is a stroller that can be used side-by-side and can be set up to accommodate twins or siblings (up to 22kg maximum per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and even works with some carrycots. In twin-mode, the seats can be facing each other or can rotate around to face parents, theoretically decreasing sibling fights over who sits with dad and mom. It comes with a large gear tray, bottle holder as well as snack trays and a change mat. It also has an automatic frame lock and a compact single stroller fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger for parents who like to stay active. It’s one of the lightest strollers you can get for your child. It also comes with excellent safety features such as a 5-point harness and safety wrist strap. It also comes with a twist hand brake which is different than the lever type found on competing models.

The seat is padded and provides plenty of space to sit. However the seat’s depth is smaller than that of other runners (it’s only about 10″) The storage bin is covered with a zipper to keep things secure. It can hold up to 10 pounds. It is enough for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn’t come with adapters to fit most bassinets and car seats for infants however, you can use them from the first day with adapters that fit brands like BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds up compactly and takes between 5 and 10 minutes to put together with no tools. The user manual is easy to read and comes in a variety of languages.
